Queer Voices and the Face of Christ

St. Matthew’s Lenten Series 2019 begins Sunday March 3 through Palm/Passion Sunday, April 14th and will take place during AfterWORDS beginning at 12:15 pm for 90 minutes and led by Deacon Douglas Argue.  We begin this important series a week before the first Sunday of Lent so Douglas can share important history and background on LGBTQIA issues which will help us gain some early understanding and develop language we will use over the following Sundays.  We will cover important ground in this series like Genderism, Bullying, Cultural Differences, the Stonewall event and the start of the Gay Liberation movement, and we’ll look at some people who have given their lives in the struggle to gain the right to be who they are, openly, and be afforded equity and justice.  This is an important part of Becoming Beloved Community so mark your calendars and join in. For more information or questions contact either Erin Rasche, erasche@gmail.com  (PHACE Education Lead) or MaryBeth Ingram, marybethingram2@gmail.com (PHACE Education Liaison).
